This was the first TQE Chart I ever did. It was the assignment that introduced me to it. I honestly love how this chart works. I feel that it makes your notes very organized and is always able to add back to. The topic we used on this TQE Chart really interested me. Maybe that's why I really enjoyed doing this assignment. I was pretty proud of myself with this chart because I felt like I took really good notes.
The topic on this assignment was about Creativity and Diversity. It was based on how exposure to different people affects our way of thinking. I think the reason I had a really big interest was because I was raised into a very diverse community. As I got older my way of thinking has definitely grown. I was raised in a very Japanese culture as well as being in the U.S. I have learned a lot. In that sense, I am very grateful to have been in a mixed community. It has given me more to see than others. 21st Century Skills used in this assignment:
Self-Directional Skills: Students will demonstrate their ability to understand and monitor their own learning needs and to goal-set. They will complete a portfolio and present it as part of their exit interview with a graduation committee. Students will also demonstrate career readiness, and will connect to the world of work through career explorations and internships. Global Awareness: Students will demonstrate an understanding of the thinking, motivations, and actions of different cultures and countries in order to successfully navigate and respond to communities and workplaces extending beyond their neighborhoods. I believe that I used Global Awareness and Self-Directional skills because the topic was on diversity and how people from different places could bring new ideas to the table. I really saw what they meant because I grew up with that very diverse background. I used self-direction by having interest and taking the best notes I can while listening to the podcast.
